How Kiddy Up Got Started

Kiddy Up Ranch started in 2010 as a ministry to serve the community helping children, adults and veterans find their abilities regardless of their disabilities. Tammy Sliger felt a calling to open Kiddy Up because of her experiences with Terissa Gautney.

In loving memory of Terissa Gautney

Inspired by Terissa

Terissa had Cerebral Palsy but she didn’t let it hold her back. Terissa showed Tammy that regardless of her disabilities that she still wanted to participate in what all the other kids were doing . The horses legs became her legs, allowing her life changing experiences.

Today, Terissa's memory continues to inspire everything we do.

Growing With Purpose

Over the years, Kiddy Up has grown to serve over 160 families weekly including those with various abilities and disabilities. Terissa remains the inspiration behind the ranch. Her loving memory has been the foundation of Tammy's purpose of growing the ranch.

Our Ranch, Our Home

Kiddy Up Ranch started on .83 acres in New Port Richey, Florida. The ranch quickly outgrew that in a year and moved to a location with 10 acres in Golden Acres. After 7 years, due to zoning restraints, the ranch was forced to move. Tammy and Doug Sliger found a property that they ended up purchasing in Hudson, Florida to provide a home for Kiddy Up Ranch where they have been for 8 years and currently at now. Kiddy Up Ranch operates on 35 acres for their riding programs, Farmstead micro school and Southern Sunshine Farms market. In addition Heartland Dairy & Livestock operates on the adjoining 300 acres next door.
